Eco-Friendly Cleaning Tips

100% eco friendly

Did you know that 150 chemicals found in cleaning materials are associated with allergies, birth defects, cancer, and psychological disorders? Most popular cleaning materials are composed of dangerous chemicals that can damage our health and the environment. These chemicals end up in our waterways when we rinse them down our drains and threaten marine life. Below we list a few eco-friendly alternatives you can utilize to clean your house.

Multi-Purpose Eco-Friendly Cleaner

This is a basic, multipurpose cleaner that is very simple to make, and it can replace almost all cleaners. It consists of three and a half cups of baking soda and a quarter of castile soap, which is a plant based, non toxic soap that causes dirt to move. You can add vinegar depending on your countertop type. This cleaner can be used in toilets, showers, and on counters. Use a wet rag and start scrubbing!

“During the current situation, that means that we’re taking every step to ensure that the health and safety of our customers and Four Seasons team members is our top priority.”

Baking Soda

Baking soda is one of nature’s best cleaners. Baking soda can be used in the multi-purpose cleaner previously mentioned to scrub counters, toilets, and showers. We recommend cleaning your oven with baking soda and water.  Baking soda is also effective on grease removal and removing surface rust.

Lemon

Lemon is another one of nature’s finest cleaners. Lemon is a natural deodorizer because of its high acidity. You can make a scrub out of lemon juice and baking soda to scrub your pans to recreate their shine and to remove stains. You can also use this scrub on your dirty plastic containers and cutting boards.

Vinegar

Vinegar can be used as a stain remover for certain textures or as an order remover. Mix vinegar and water to remove toilet, shower, and window stains. Add vinegar to your multi-purpose solution depending on the type of countertop you have.

Let’s ditch the harmful products and use our eco-friendly tips in your daily cleaning routines! Not only will these homemade solutions be cheaper than store bought products, you’ll be protecting your family’s health and the environment. If you have any questions or concerns about what products you are currently using and how you can make alternatives, please do not hesitate to call Four Seasons Plumbing.
